About JHTS

JHTS is a full service internet-based transcription company

Our aim is to provide good quality transcripts at a reasonable price for business and academic clients worldwide.

JHTS is VAT registered, which can be unfortunate if you’re a student or a university operating on a tight budget because it means that we appear more expensive overall than some services out there.  However, we are also not the most expensive, and because we are internet-based we do not have the overheads of a company running from an office.  Though you may get a cheaper service elsewhere, you’re unlikely to get a better one.

Reputation

... built on quality of transcription

We don’t run other companies down, as many do.  There are lots of good companies out there, and we don’t mind if they claim to be the lowest price, the fastest service, the most accurate or, indeed, the only company in the UK that proofreads everything to publishing standard within their cost.  We could claim all of those but we don’t.  Our service speaks for itself, especially given that, since inception of JHTS over 20 years ago, most of our work has come through word of mouth recommendation.

Care

... for the environment

At JHTS we try to be green in everything we do - and that doesn’t mean green as in we don’t know what we’re doing!  We try to ensure everything we do has little or no impact on the environment.  We prefer not to print transcripts.  We prefer to invoice and correspond by email.  We prefer online payment by BACS or credit/debit card because sending a cheque means printing, postage and a trip to the not-so-local-any-more bank, which means more carbon emissions.
